St. Mary's Church was built in 1859, and it was renovated in 2002. Fr. Vincent Connaughton came to the Parish in September 2008, and in April 2010 St. Mary's celebrated its 150th anniversary, with a Parish Mission given by the Ceili Community.

Fr.Vincent Connaughton P.P.
Fr.Vincent Connaughton is a native of Newtowncashel, Co. Longford. Fr. Vincent attended the Vocational School in Ballymahon, Co. Longford from 1974 to 1975, and then completed his last four years as a boarder in the Salesian College, Ballinakill, Portlaoise, where he completed his Leaving Cert 1975 to 1979. He then attended St. Patrick's College, Maynooth, from 1979 to 1985, where he was ordained Priest in St. Mel.s Cathedral for the Diocese of Ardagh & Clonmacnois, 16th June 1985.
Fr. Vincent's first appointment was Chaplain to Our Lady's Bower Seceondary School, and the Marist College in Athlone, 1985 to 1991. He then was appointed as Curate to St. Mel's Cathedral in Longford from 1991 to 2008. He was appointed Adm to Killenummery&Killery in 2008 and in June 2010 he was appointed Parish Priest to Killenummery & Killery.
